My Power Thought

Prayer is such a crucial part of our world view. It gives us God’s perspective on social and political issues of our times. The Prophet Daniel understood this when he took a stand to pray openly, even when it was unlawful to do so. This bold declaration of faith caused him to be thrown into a den of lions. If you’ve read the story, you know that God sent an angel to close the mouth of the lions and Daniel was unharmed.

Sometimes your prayers can make you a target for injustice and unfair treatment. The enemy wants to discourage you from praying because he knows the power of prayer but if you will not be moved, God can accomplish great things through you. As believers we can trust that our world is not only shaped by politicians and laws but by our prayers. God uses intercessors to accomplish His will in the earth.

Dear Lord, give us Your perspective as we pray over our city and our nation. Help us to be a light in our family, our community, and in our nation. Bless this great country and continue to keep your hand of protection over us. In Jesus name, Amen.
